The Original Kitchen Master has been in business for over 25 years. We’re proud to say that we have established a reputation for distinctive design, meticulous construction and exceptional customer service for both remodeling and new construction. Not only do we provide fine quality cabinetry, our Semi-Custom Line, Pioneer, is located here in Davison, Michigan. In addition to serving the Metro-Detroit area, we have done projects in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Cleveland, Traverse City, and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.

Meet our Staff

Ken Strom

As owner, designer, and salesman Ken remains intimately involved in your project until completion. A licensed builder, Ken has over 25 years of construction and design experience, including both residential and commercial work. Specializing in the optimum use of existing space and with significant experience in remodeling and additions, he brings the same attention to detail to every project, large or small. Ken's projects have been featured by Hampshire Cabinetry, Hour Magazine and also Detroit Home Magazine.

Ken strives to build a relationship with his clients in order to provide attentive service, knowing that a completely satisfied customer will always refer new clients, as well as planning additional projects of their own. He remains sensitive to the economic climate, operating at specific margins to provide the greatest value for the customer’s investment.

Ken maintains his own crew of installers along with a selective group of subcontractors, proving continuity and accountability for the satisfactory completion of work in your home.

Ken has a BS in Business Administration from Central Michigan University and is a member of the Better Business Bureau and the Farmington Chamber of Commerce. His showroom has been a fixture in downtown Farmington for many years. Ken encourages the support of Habitat for Humanity through the donation of all recyclable cabinetry and fixtures from his jobsites.

Michael

Mike started in the building industry in the mid eighties working for a large retail-building supplier. Mike became very successful in the Design & Sales procedure of all Kitchen & Bath Cabinetry.

Mike joined The Original Kitchen Master where he effortlessly transitioned into apart of our family. With the twenty-five plus years of experience in this industry you will find Mike pays exceptional attention to detail. He has the ability of being able to listen to the customer and interpret their ideas into an affordable and functional design. He prides himself on customer satisfaction and always makes sure his customers are satisfied upon the completion of their project.

Angela

Angela is originally from New York where she worked for 14 years as a Professional Designer. Angela first designed avant-garde Trade Show Exhibitry for notable companies, and then moved on to Residential and Commercial Design with an emphasis on new construction and renovation.

In 1999, Angela was recruited by Toll Brothers to establish design centers exhibiting reputable brand name products and design applications to accommodate buyers’ customization requirements of their dream homes.

Angela has lived in Michigan for the past 10 years, where she successfully owns and operates her own interior design firm, providing her expertise to the Chicago and Detroit metropolitan areas. Angela joined the team at Kitchen Master and has worked closely with Ken since her arrival in Michigan.

After exposing the Northwestern suburbs to unique edge design, she was recruited by Cambridge Builders to develop a premier design center for the Bellagio subdivision, as well as work with clients privately. Kitchen Master provided Cabinetry, and designed with Angela, to present some of the most exclusive and functional design work exhibited in this area.

Valerie

Valerie has always had an eye for design. She began taking art classes at an early age. She continued to show interest in Interior Design and then attended Central Michigan University.

Valerie graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design. Afterwards, she worked at an architectural firm where they concentrated on commercial projects. Valerie realized she would rather be working on residential projects.

Val joined the team at Kitchen Master, as “Ken’s assistant,” as well as one of the Interior Designers. She has a strong sense of scale, balance, and color. Not only can you rely on her good judgment and feel for style, you can rely on her to coordinate the schedule of deliveries to ensure your project is completed in a timely manner.
